Iran ready to help Pakistan in setting up power plant

Iran can help Pakistan in setting up a power plant in Pakistan if requested for, said Amin Sadeqi, the representative of Iranian Ministry of Energy in Karachi on Tuesday.

This would help in transfer of technology to Pakistan, he said.
Sadeqi led an Iranian delegation from power and energy sector during their visit to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Tuesday. Iranian Economic Counselor here Gholamreza Tajik also accompanied.
President KCCI Anjum Nisar along with Vice President KCCI Mohammad Ali welcomed the guests.
The delegation comprising people from public and private sectors engaged in power and energy producing and manufacturing power equipment have come to Pakistan to participate in the on-going oil and gas exhibition POGE, told the delegation chief.
Amin Sadeqi informed the KCCI members that Iran was setting a large size power plant on Iran-Pakistan border and Pakistan can purchase electricity from this.
He said bilateral trade of Iran and Pakistan was only $560 million per annum which is very low against high potential on both sides.
Iranian economic counselor said Iran and Pakistan can increase trade in many goods for their mutual benefits. It is the need of the hour to boost trade and investment among Muslim countries.
President KCCI Anjum Nisar said Pakistan’s energy demand is increasing day by day, and Iran can take advantage of this vast energy Pakistan.
He said Pakistan is one of the largest rice exporter countries. It has also high quality textile products and wide range of food items for exports surplus for export. Iran can benefit from this situation.
He announced that a KCCI delegation will soon be in Iran to exchange information about trade and investment opportunities existing in Iran and Pakistan. Maximum exchange of delegations and information will help promote bilateral trade and investment.
He also invited Iranian delegates to participate in KCCI’s international exhibition and offered the maximum facilitation.
